Electives

Elective rotations are opportunities for residents to pursue specific academic and clinical interests, further hone skills and training, and to complete schedules once required rotations are fulfilled. There are a variety of elective rotations to choose from, and developing new electives and rotations is encouraged.

Elective rotations include experiences in:

    prison (maximum and minimum security), civil and criminal evaluations
  • Geriatric Psychiatry
    outpatient and nursing home care
  • Long-term care
    developmentally disabled adults, geriatric populations, and custodial care
  • Substance abuse and recovery
    methadone, suboxone, recovery treatment centers
  • Community outpatient clinics
    hospital-based and private practice experience
  • Health and Welfare
    community outreach and systems-based care, crisis response exposure
  • Consult Liaison
    adult and child experiences available
